I have been pondering a lot of these things, too, and am grateful for the words you put to my thoughts. : )Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06758454005028176334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-113647239568938571.post-8983070418535248322010-12-20T08:39:32.051-07:002010-12-20T08:39:32.051-07:00I think it's so fascinating that magnifying ta...I think it's so fascinating that magnifying talents in the Lord's way is different than the world's way.

Some of us are great sewers, and while we might use that talent for monetary gain (which would be fine if necessary for survival) truly magnifying that talent would be to use it to serve our fellow man.

I love how you talk about not separating our talents from our role-how easy it is to do that! The world teaches we need to be an independent woman with our stuff going on to be a 'good' mother-but that's just not right.

Really enjoyed this post-very interesting stuff.Curlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06176883112936068271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-113647239568938571.post-45840957002582907352010-12-18T22:55:36.320-07:002010-12-18T22:55:36.320-07:00For part of our seminary lesson earlier this week ...For part of our seminary lesson earlier this week we each needed to find a favorite scripture in the Doctrine & Covenants, share it with the class, and then tell why we like it. I shared D&C 88:77-80

"And I give unto you a commandment that you shall teach one another the doctrine of the kingdom

"Teach ye diligently and my grace shall attend you, that you may be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle, in doctrine, in the law of the gospel, in all things that pertain unto the kingdom of God, that are expedient for you to understand;

"Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms—

"That ye may be prepared in all things when I shall send you again to magnify the calling whereunto I have called you, and the mission with which I have commissioned you."

I love how we are to learn everything - church doctrine, history, geography, science, current events, etc. And that which I learn will help me be prepared to magnify my mission as a wife and mother. Those talents we have are given so we can use them to serve most especially in our families.Montserrathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13056974831892116493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-113647239568938571.post-43792986832468158392010-12-18T18:43:12.011-07:002010-12-18T18:43:12.011-07:00You are an awesome example!You are an awesome example!Rebekahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12186045870316653521noreply@blogger.com
